I am trying hard to gain muscle and I was told by my personal trainer that if I shouldn’t be eating 6 meals a day because it will speed up my metabolism too much and I wont be able to gain any. He suggested that instead of 6 meals I should eat 3 large meals. Is this true?

None of my friends are in very good shape, but they all say it’s genetics and they can’t help it. I have always thought you were supposed to eat six small meals a day to get lean and they told me that there is no way I could get in shape and lose fat eating six times a day.
