My name is Jenny Drennan. I am 25 years old and I live in St. Louis, MO. I am 5’ 7 and 3/4” and weigh 130.
I graduated from Cor Jesu Academy and then St. Louis University with a bachelor’s degree in communication.
I’ve been a personal trainer for 5 years. I work at the Powerhouse Gym in Shrewsbury Monday through Thursday and I bartend on Friday nights.
I started training when I was a 16. At that age, I was tall and skinny. I played varsity basketball as a freshman and after a long season of being pushed around by girls much bigger and stronger than me, I decided I should probably hit the weights if I wanted to hold my own on the court. After just one year of lifting weights and seeing the changes in my body, my passion for basketball was slowly fading and weight lifting and fitness was becoming my new passion.
How did you like being an NFL linebacker? Just kidding!
I AM a big Friday Night Lights fan! My favorite quote " Clear eyes...full heart...can't lose, " is from that show!
I am a bikini competitor in the IFBB. Bikini is a recently added category in the NPC and IFBB. This will be the third year that bikini has been offered. The judges look for women with a tight, athletic body that displays muscle, but still maintains a very feminine shape. In bikini, you are also judged on your overall appearance, such as your hair, skin tone, and suit choice. Presentation also plays a huge role in bikini. I love competing in this category because it allows you to present your own walk and poses, allowing you to show your personality and also allowing you to choose the best poses for your physique.
I have always had a strong desire to compete, but before bikini was introduced, the only other option I was interested in was competing in Figure. I thought a few times about competing in figure, but with my body type, I didn’t feel I would do very well. Gaining muscle was never easy for me and getting my body to a level where I could succeed in Figure would have been tough, so I continued to put off competing. I remember hearing about the NPC introducing bikini as a category and I was interested in competing, but I decided to wait until I had a good idea of what the judges were looking for. Competing in a show had been a long time goal of mine and I wanted to do well right off the bat so I wanted to make sure that my body type was what they were looking for. After the first year of bikini, I remember looking at NPC News and seeing the pictures of the winning girls and I knew right away that this was exactly what I was hoping it would be.
Those who support me the most and those who support me the least motivate me. I always get motivation from the people closest to me because they are the ones constantly telling me that I can accomplish what I want and I believe them and want to make them proud. And I also get motivation from the people who don’t support me. If some one tells me I can’t do something, I will do it. I don’t do it out of spite or just to prove them wrong. I do it for me and try to use that anger to step up my workouts.
Confidence
Losing the people in my life that are closest to me is my biggest fear.
I’ve had a lot of happy moments in my life, but I would have to say my all time happiest was when I got my pro card at Team Universe this past July. After putting so much time, effort, and heart into something, consistently for 9 years and finally feeling like I accomplished my dream, was the most amazing feeling ever.
Definitely shoulders! I love training shoulders because I love what well developed shoulders do for my overall body shape. When you have wide shoulders your body looks more proportionate and your waist looks smaller. I also love training shoulders now because I used to hate training them and it’s taken me a very long time to get to the point where I felt like shoulders were a strong point for me. I used to completely leave them out of my workouts because I felt they were so weak and training them was such a challenge, but I learned quickly that it was important to train your weaknesses first and to focus on underdeveloped muscle group, in order to make improvements.
I can’t stand fast paced workouts and that includes supersets.
Pizza
I’m not gonna lie, I’m pretty boring. Outside of work, I like to hangout with my boyfriend, friends, my cousins and my dog. I love to shop.
Since I’ve been training for a few years now, I’ve heard a lot of questions from a lot of people. Most people have a lot of the same questions and I plan on answering those most frequently asked questions first in my new blog! I will also be writing about my favorite exercises, cardio workouts, diet tips, fad diets, new workouts and workout equipment, and also bikini competition advice and tips.

Level-1:
Level-1
is honestly the best protein Ive ever tried. Every other protein Ive
tried, I've had to mix with fruit concentrate that adds tons of sugar,
but level-1 is the first protein I can drink with just water! My
favorite is the chocolate coconut.

Phormula-1:
Phormula-1

Ignition:
I used to only worry about getting my protein in after a workout but I
didn't take into consideration how the protein is being digested and
whether or not it is being used correctly by my body. Ignition has
really helped me with my strength gains and the introduction of the
product itself has made me aware of how my body uses what Im feeding
it post-workout.

1-Db Goddess:
This
is the first fat burner that Ive tried that really works. I can tell a
difference when I'm taking them consistently and when I'm not. The
energy they give me is perfect as well. They don't make me jittery but
give me just what I need to finish that after work workout or cardio
session.

M-Factor Goddess:
I
am in love with the M-Factor Goddess vitamins! After a week of taking
them, people said my skin was glowing and I just looked really healthy! I
love these vitamins because I hate taking a pack of 8 different
vitamins. I usually just end up not taking them at all and wasting
money, so a multivitamin from a company I trust to not skimp on the
important vitamins and nutrients makes me so happy! And I love the added
benefit of an anti-aging complex that fights free radicals!

Thyro-Drive:
I love Thyro-Drive because its something I can take to keep my metabolism
boosted all the time, even when I'm not looking for the added energy
boost in the evening. Thyro-Drive is also great especially when I'm
getting ready for a competition. Competition prep is very stressful and I
used to worry whether my stress levels were affecting my fat burning,
but when I'm using Thyro-Drive I don't have to worry!
