IFBB Pro Men's Physique | Kenosha, WI
Andre Adams is a current IFBB Pro Men's Physique athlete, 2015 Olympian and former SLP National powerlifting champion. He is based out of Kenosha, WI, where the majority of his training takes place. Andre is one of 10 pro athletes invited to compete in the first-ever Arnold Sports IFBB Men’s Physique contest in Columbus Ohio March of 2015.
Between life with his 2 beautiful daughters, mechanical engineering career, competing and coaching Team F4E athletes, he is an extremely busy man that understands first-hand what it takes day-in and day-out to wake up, grind it out, conquer, and repeat.
His journey began at age 12 after being inspired by his father to lift weights. He was a skinny kid, just looking to be like dad. By his early 20’s, Andre started to gain recognition within the local power lifting community placing 23 of 23 1st place in the Son Light Power competitions and earning a 2010 Nationals “Best Lifter” award for his 510 lb dead lift (165 lbs BW, Raw, Open).
That no excuses, never settle attitude inspired him to demonstrate to his PT clients that they could do anything they fully applied themselves to. Some of his clients were rehabilitating from various disabilities and needed that extra push of motivation. After successfully competing in his final power lifting show in March of 2013, Andre took on the NPC Men’s Physique stages in May 2013 at the Rockford Natural Bodybuilding Championships. Without any coaching, Andre placed 2nd in a stacked competition at his debut. After a few more shows and the mentoring guidance of Team Ventura head coach Omar Ventura, Andre was able to accomplish the impossible and earn his IFBB pro card at 2013 NPC Nationals in Ft. Lauderdale Florida becoming the first WI resident to earn this distinction.
Fast forward another year and Arnold Sports & Olympia showdowns are secured. Most importantly, Andre looks for ways to inspire others, educate them and ultimately help them improve the quality of life - leading by example. #AintDoneYet
MY "AHA" MOMENT
November 2013, I was dealing with a lot of stress at home and figuring out how to adjust to raising my two daughter’s by myself, manage a career and a household. It pushed my training to another level. I left to Ft. Lauderdale on a mission, knowing I would secure a pro card.
My daughters. Career-wise, earning my place in history at the 1st-ever Arnold Classic MP, winning Ferrigno Legacy and qualifying for 2015 Olympia!
THE THING THAT KEEPS ME GOING
My fear of being forgotten. I don’t have a fear of failure. I am like superman to my kids, I fear letting them down.
THE END GOAL
Change as many lives as possible and show it doesn’t matter where you come from, anything is possible with faith and a lot of hard work. All champions were once contenders that refused to give up!
