1st Phorm Elite Athlete Alexa Watson

Health & Fitness Coach | Thornton, CO

Health & Fitness Coach, Proud LEO Wifey & Dog Mama. Born & raised on Long Island, NY. Growing up a competitive swimmer (age 5-17), I learned discipline, grit & sacrifice.

Due to an injury, I stopped swimming and that is where my fitness journey began. After struggling to lose the 50 pounds I gained from the end of my swimming career, I became infatuated with fitness, nutrition & helping others reach their goals.

When I was 19, I dropped out of college (despite kickback and doubt from everyone in my life) to pursue my online coaching business & dive into the online fitness space. I’ve never looked back!

what got you into fitness

After gaining 50+ pounds from the end of my swimming career, it felt like I lost control of my life. I got involved with bad people, made poor decisions and lost myself. Fitness is what dug me out of that hole. Out of desperation, I started researching, learning & experimenting on myself. Through that, were years of mistakes, trial and error, but that is what got me here.

what's your Source of inspiration

My husband, Stanley. Since day 1, I have looked up to him for his strength, courage, grit, confidence and passion. He is undeniably himself at all times. He stands for what he believes in. He doesn’t change for anyone or to please other people. He knows what he wants and gets after it. He has a backbone that doesn’t bend no matter what happens. He is someone that takes accountability for his actions. I look up to him because he lives out the qualities that I have lacked for most of my life. And he does so selflessly every day serving the community. He challenges me, he pushes me to be better and I’m very proud to say he is my biggest inspiration. For most of my life, I never felt like anyone really “inspired me” and influenced much change in my life.

what's your go-to cheat meal

Pizza, breadsticks, Mexican food and margaritas! Couldn’t just choose one. Pizza for chilling on the couch, being lazy & cozy. But I take the cheese off of my pizza & need it with LOTS of sauce. So I’m basically just eating saucy bread with a side of more bread. I always look forward to having some guilt-free pizza & CRUSHING it in the gym the next day to put those carbs to work. We also LOVE going to our favorite Mexican spot, hanging out at the bar, trying new Tequilas, enjoying chips & talking. My favorite meal from there are “skinny tacos” (pollo asado inside lettuce wraps) w/ guac, pinto beans & rice. The “cheat” part of the meal are the margs & 20 baskets of chips I eat.

what's your favorite tv show

We LOVE our shows, but Ozark, Euphoria & Ratched are just a few. Something about “darker” shows has me so intrigued. So many twists & turns, concepts & scenes that make you think and so many “NO FKN WAY” moments.

what does 'never settle' mean to you

Being undeniable throughout the journey to your highest self. It’s an everlasting journey. When you achieve even your highest goal (which for me, was Elite Athlete), the work NEVER stops; it only begins. Even when you achieve incredible things, you should always be hungry for more and ask “okay, so what’s next?”

what's your biggest achievement

In my younger years, being voted captain of my swim team felt like a big accomplishment. It was a big team that was open to grades 7th-12th. I had a team who believed in me and trusted I could lead them well. My associates as a dietetic technician... Quitting all of my jobs and pursing online fitness full time... Paying my parents’ mortgage during times of struggle... and becoming an Elite Athlete for 1st Phorm.

what keeps you going

My family and my husband. I have very high goals & standards for how I want my life to look like and I know that won’t happen if I don’t keep pushing. What also keeps me going is thinking back to how badly I used to struggle. I think of the girl I used to be and all of the things I wish I had at that time. I think of ALL the other women in the same place I was, and how I would do anything to help them! Because I know what it felt like. The girl I used to be motivates me to show up for other women struggling with the same things I did.

how has 1st Phorm changed your life

I’ve never had people believe in me the way 1st Phorm has. They believed in me before I even believed in myself and they saw that I was capable of before I did. They set the highest standard for myself before I even know that standard existed. They encouraged me, supported me when I needed it most, provided honesty and provided the best guidance and shoulder to lean on. For my entire life I always felt like I wasn’t good enough and constantly felt compared to others. They made me feel unique, important and like I can accomplish ANYTHING — because the reality is, YOU CAN. 1st Phorm believes in people.
