what got you into fitness
In high school my friends and I worked out to have some biceps and build strength for sports. Once I got to college, I was introduced to bodybuilding. As I watched a friend prepare for his first competition, I was in awe of what the body could do. Meeting greats like Ronnie Coleman, Kim Chizevsky-Nichols, and Chris Cormier made me an instant fan. In 1999 I began training with a purpose, taking supplements, and realizing that eating mattered.
I dove onto the competition stage where I battled for size. My love for the sport and the people continued to grow. I've competed in almost 20 shows; both regional and national level. Soon I learned that bio-medical sciences and kinesiology were the only things I liked to read about. I did some personal training while finishing up school and decided that the business scope was not what I wanted to be.
what's your Source of inspiration
My source of inspiration comes form the people around me. My wife Cheryl inspires me because she is genuine, intelligent, and helps counteract my tendency to be lazy. Sal Frisella is another person that inspires me. I relate with Sal at a personal level, down to the cars we think are cool. He motivates me through his actions to be a do-er with a strong foundation of mental fortitude.
what's your go-to cheat meal
Burgers and fries, the American classic.
what's your favorite tv show
I do watch the Batchelor because I don’t have that kind of drama in my life.
what does 'never settle' mean to you
Don’t Stop. There’s always more you can do, and there's always more that needs to be done.
what's your biggest achievement
Building my own personal training business, and becoming a husband and a father take the cake.
what keeps you going
My wife and son. I can’t let them down.
