Subscriptions
Checkout
Find the Truemed logo during checkout. Exit the "Shop Pay" pop-up if prompted.
Complete Health Assessment
Take a private health survey. A licensed provider will review your answers to determine eligibility.
Make your purchase
Pay with your HSA/FSA card or credit card. If you use a regular credit card, follow the guide included with your Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) to submit your purchase for reimbursement.
CHECK OUT WITH YOUR REGULAR CARD
Do not pay with an HSA/FSA card during checkout. After your purchase, check your confirmation screen or receipt email for a link to the Truemed survey.
Complete Health Assessment
Take a private health survey. A licensed provider will review your answers to determine eligibility. If approved, you'll receive a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). Note: The survey must be taken on the same day as your purchase.
Submit for HSA/FSA Reimbursement
Follow the guide included with your LMN to submit your purchase for reimbursement. Payout timing depends on your HSA/FSA administrator ... typically a few weeks. One approved LMN covers your eligible purchases for 12 months, including recurring shipments.
How does using my HSA/FSA save me money?
HSA and FSA accounts let you set aside pre-tax dollars for expenses that treat, mitigate, or prevent a diagnosed medical condition ... and with a Letter of Medical Necessity, that can include the supplements you use every day.
Here's the advantage: normally you earn $100, taxes take their cut, and you spend what's left. With HSA/FSA funds, qualified customers put the full $100 toward their health. Same products, same goals ... you just stop losing a piece of it to taxes first.
*Illustrative example. Actual tax savings vary based on your individual tax situation.

Common Questions
How does using my HSA/FSA account save me money?
HSA and FSA accounts let you pay for qualifying health expenses with pre-tax dollars. Because that money comes out of your paycheck before taxes, every dollar goes further ... instead of earning $100, losing a chunk to taxes, and spending what's left, qualified customers spend the full $100 on their health. For most people, that works out to roughly 30% in savings on average. Same products, same results ... you just stop giving up a cut of the money you spend on your goals.
What are FSA and HSA accounts?
Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) are programs that let you set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses. They're typically offered through your employer or health insurance plan. If you're not sure whether you have one, check with your employer or insurance provider.
Can I use my HSA/FSA at 1st Phorm?
Yes ... if you qualify, you may use your FSA or HSA card on eligible products. Select Truemed as your payment option at checkout and use your HSA or FSA card just like any other credit card. Truemed is for qualified customers, and HSA/FSA tax savings vary. Learn more at Truemed.com/disclosures
Can I use my regular credit card at checkout?
Yes. If you'd rather use a regular credit card, just select that option in Truemed's checkout. After your purchase, Truemed will email you instructions for submitting your receipt to your HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement.
What is a Letter of Medical Necessity, and how is this compliant?
A Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN) is documentation from a licensed provider stating that a product helps treat, mitigate, or prevent a health condition. With an LMN, the items in your order become qualified medical expenses ... the same way a doctor's visit or prescription is. There's a large body of research showing that nutrition and exercise are some of the most effective tools for preventing disease, and when a licensed provider substantiates that need for you, your purchase satisfies all IRS requirements for HSA/FSA reimbursement.
Are there fees associated with using Truemed's services?
There's no cost to you when you're shopping with a Truemed partner merchant like 1st Phorm.
When should I use my FSA/HSA dollars?
You can use them all year long ... but don't sit on FSA funds. Most FSA dollars expire on December 31, and unused money may not roll over into the next year. If it's late in the year, use it or lose it. HSA funds, on the other hand, roll over year to year.
How long does it take for me to receive my Letter of Medical Necessity?
Usually just a few hours. In some cases, TrueMed's provider team needs extra time to review an individual qualification survey, so it can take a business day or two. If you don't see your letter, check your spam folder first ... then reach out to [email protected].
I don't have an HSA/FSA. Can I still benefit from Truemed?
Truemed's services are only for people who have an HSA or FSA account ... or plan to fund one during open enrollment. If your employer offers one, open enrollment is your chance to set aside pre-tax dollars for next year with your health goals in mind.
I don't live in the US. Can I still get reimbursed with Truemed?
Unfortunately, no ... Truemed is currently only available in the United States.
You already do the work. Let your pre-tax dollars do some of it too.
