Is Dark Chocolate Really Healthy?

Dark chocolate is often considered a healthier alternative to sweeter versions. However, are there any benefits to having it in your nutrition plan?

While there are better options for carbohydrates, we all have a sweet tooth. I'm guilty as charged! I'd say it's all about moderation. It's also about making sure you meet your daily protein and calorie goals. At the end of the day, that's what will matter most for earning results.

Now, yes, dark chocolate can have some benefits. For one, it does have antioxidants, flavonoids, and polyphenols. Some people say these antioxidants can even rival that of blueberries and acai berries

Again though, dark chocolate is a sugar and fat-heavy food. For the best kind, look for one with at least 70% cocoa.

As long as you can find balance with it as a part of your plan, that's what's important! I often enjoy throwing a little bit in my protein ice cream at the end of the day if I'm short on carbohydrates.
